I ordered these binos after much internal debate and thought, cause they are really expensive. I have birded for 30 years or so with 10x40 Leitz Trivoids which at the time I bought, were the best birding binos bar none. My concerns with this Swarovski other than price were, too heavy in the field, too powerful to even get on a bird let alone focus, close focus was not quite as good at a 10 power. I found after a few months, these binos are top class, weight may be a problem but I bought Swarovaski suspendors which work suprisingly well, the brightness is perfect and colors are true. The close focus has not been a problem as it is close to 6 feet, measured with a tape measure spotting the numericals. Rapid focus has not been a problem. I would highly recommend these binos for birding in the field regardless if looking at hawks in flight or warblers 15 feet away--just awesome views. Matched with a great scope, the complete birder
