The MA1240a can be stacked with other audio components and includes removable ears for mounting in standard audio racks (2RU). Two common or BUS inputs feed audio signals from standard line-level audio sources to any or all channels. Each of the twelve channels has its own dedicated input and independent level adjustment to provide further flexibility. By simply flipping a single switch, two channels can be bridged to increase the total power output for that zone. This is helpful when extra power is needed in certain areas. The MA1240a's manual, automatic on/off, or triggered 12V input turn-on modes facilitate easy integration into automated systems. FYI, this is the same unit as the Audiosource AMP1200 for $160 less. Just branded differently, check the MFGs websites and manuals.

I installed this with 3 Apple Airport Express units, connected to 3 pre-wired zones in my house. Each Airport Express connected via RCA via line-in to a zone. Now I am able to play any iOS device in any zone (or all zones). So I can listen on the deck to music from my iPad, my wife can listen in the kitchen to different music from her macbook, and my daughter can listen to her iPod touch with her music in the family room. I can expand to 6 zones and source by extending the same setup with this amp. iTunes and iOS are great.

As for the Amp, I had a mid quality Denon Receiver powering two zones, and this more than exceeded the power of the Denon. The connecters on the back are very easy to use, the configuration of zones and bridging are clear and easy, great overall unit.
