In many ways, this is a superior product to the Cintiq (however, I have only used and owned the 12wx as well as intuos tablets). However, all the various improvements that this Yiynova tablet makes come together to make it a vastly superior user experience for me.

The glass screen makes all the color vibrant as opposed to the grainy matte acrylic finish on the the cintiq. Color accuracy is a non-issue. Think of this as a regular LED monitor where you can adjust the colors in the built-in controls to your liking. With a little tweaking, the color matched all of my monitors perfectly.

The pen-pressure curve feels extremely great. I did not even know that such a light stroke was possible. The pressure curve on this Yiynova monitor is very linear, with, unbelievably, responsiveness similar to that of an analog pencil. On the other hand, you could say that the responsiveness of Wacom products feels more like a brush. After trying this, I found that I prefer this kind of pressure curve. One could even say a big part of the digital painting learning curve is actually the Wacom pressure curve.

The pen is battery-powered, but the construction is very tight. There is no jiggling of loose parts inside. The weight distribution is even, even with the battery towards the back end. It is completely cylindrical and a little thinner than the Wacom pens. Already, I prefer this pen because it feels more similar to analog pens, brushes and such.

The only thing that I can criticize is the edge of brush strokes are a little bit grainy. Here is where the Wacom digitizer is superior. However, this is only an issue when I lay down a hard edge. It is not even noticeable when I use soft pressure in a blended stroke.
