This model generates huge amount of heat even when CPU is doing nothing (yes, I am talking about CPU at 1-2% of load). It has a 35W CPU and no dedicated graphics card. Yet, the temperature at the vents is very high. I compared it against more than 1 dozen all-in-one. The only one that is just as hot is Dell XPS 27 which has a 77W CPU + 65W graphics card. Because of the heat, the fan is frequently running at high speed and makes it very noisy.

The issue is not unique to my unit. The 2 other units at the local SONY store and Fry's are also very hot. Actually, the one at Fry's is so hot that someone removed the back cover to make it cools better.

I sent my unit to SONY repair center . They replaced the cooling assembly. But the problem remains the same.
