BUSHNELL 201965 G-Force 1300 ARC Laser Rangefinder (Black)Bushnell 201965 G-Force 1300 ARC Laser Rangefinder (Black) Review
I purchased this rangefinder to replace my Nikon 800 rangefinder. I wanted a rangefinder that I could consistently range trees in the 600-800 yard range. I wasn't getting that from the Nikon, so I switched to the Bushnell.Pros: 1. It is small and lightweight so it fits nicely in a shirt breast pocket. 2. It has a display that is nice and bright and that can be dimmed for dawn and dusk use. 3. It ranges trees in the 600-800 yard range rapidly on the first or second push of the button (usually, when my rangefinder is out, I need the range to a target quickly, and this rangefinder ranges things quickly). 4. It has a high-quality feel and look. The rubber armoring is well made and the texturing makes for easy manipulation and a firm grip.
Cons: 1. I would prefer to be able to switch to a black display for various applications as the red (even in the brightest setting) can be a little difficult to read in bright sunlight when looking at something with a light-colored background. 2. The lanyard on mine was strangely configured and difficult to attach to the rangefinder, so I replaced it with a more functional one. 3. I would like it to have a standard mode that just gives the angle compensation and true ballistic range without the rifle or bow ballistics drop readout. It has a standard mode, but as near as I can tell, it doesn't display the angle-compensated distance to the target in this mode. Essentially, I know how much drop my firearms have at various distances, and all I need to know is the true ballistic range (rather than line-of-sight range) with the angle compensation as I can adjust for holdover on my own. 4. The power button is a little too recessed into the armoring on the rangefinder making is slightly difficult to depress. Having the button protrude a little further out of the top of the rangefinder would make it a little easier to use.
Despite the few cons listed here, this is an outstanding rangefinder. I wanted something that would range long distances rapidly, was light and small, and was ruggedly built for harsh outdoor use, and this rangefinder fits the bill well. You won't be disappointed.
