Rockford Fosgate Power T1000-1BDCP 1000 watt mono amplifierRockford Fosgate Power T1000-1BDCP 1000 watt mono amplifier Review
I'm not usually one to write a review on products, but I am quite impressed with this amplifier. I have been in the car and home audio world for 15+ years now and it's not too often that I am this impressed by a product. I previously had a two other amps (won't mention names) and neither one even came close to the sheer power and efficiency of this amp (both were returned) Both were supposed to be 1000w rms at 2ohms, but felt like 500-600 tops AND they were even CEA-2006 compliant amps, go figure...apparently they were using some "hokey" formula to claim to be compliant. Both previous amps were not nearly as efficient either, my headlights would dim heavily on bass notes, but now they dim only if I'm really cranking it up, which is to be expected with a stock alternator. (and yes I've done the Big 3) I like to have a lot of headroom with my subs so I'm only powering (2) 250w rms Image Dynamics subwoofers at 2ohms. On the previous two amps I had to turn the gain up nearly 3/4 of the way to get decent performance which should not have been the case with only a 500w load to those amps, but with this Rockford amp the gain is less than HALF way (where it should be) and the sound is simply amazing. My subs hit lower, and with that deep kick-to-the-gut that is a MUST in any of my set-ups over the years. I'm now thinking of also upgrading my subs because this amp could EASILY power (2) 400-600w rms subs at 2ohms. The inputs function nicely and are very easy given that you use a simple phillips screwdriver instead of finding the correct size allen wrench when tweaking. I also like having all the controls and inputs on one side which makes for a clean install and more room if you're placing a 4-channel next to this as I did in my last set-up. Needless to say this amp puts out great gobs of super clean power and I may just be a Rockford fan again. I used to be but they lost me in the mid nineties for reasons I won't go into here. btw, my "birthsheet" says 1502w rms at 2ohms, and I think I may actually believe it! So, if you're tired of amps that "claim" to put out rated power but fall short, get this amp, you'll be writing a great review too!
