I replaced an older generation Panasonic digital cordless with this system (Panasonic KX-TG9382T). I stuck with Panasonic because it still got high ratings from consumer reviews and the previous system worked trouble free for many years but finally gave out when the kids dropped the handsets on the floor a few too many times. For the customer that wants a system that is easy set up and uncomplicated this is it. The audio quality is excellent and the range of the handsets are more than adequate for my home. We put a handset in the basement, two on the main floor and two upstairs. The base unit is on the main floor in our den. Two adults and three children live in our home and it seems that the handsets are always misplaced. So the ability for the base unit to activate a signal on a lost phone is always in use. Plus we like to screen our calls and the handsets provide audio for anyone leaving a message.

Now that cellphone reception has gotten pretty good where I live this may very well be the last land line phone we own and based on previous experience with Panasonic I think this phone is of excellent quality, easy to set up and use and will probably last 10 years.
