Very well built. This will be the last Tripod I ever buy. That is unless it is confiscated by airport security. Don't try to carry on your tripod in Taiwan. They consider it a weapon and will not let you on the airplane. Back to the tripod, I am 6'2" and it extends past my head. It is a little bulky but that is what I like. Very substantial. You may find carbon fiber tripods that are smaller but this one hold my $3000.00 camera securely. I cannot imagine a position it cannot accommodate. I purchased a fluid video head to attach when shooting video. The tripod hold the camera steady while allowing panning with the video head.
