This is a really great product. The flexibility is unmatched by anything I have used before. Great signal strength throughout the office. This particular model is the one that's "standalone" or in other words, does not require a separate controller system. If you are just buying one access point, this is the model you want. This is also the model with internal antennas, if you think you might want to use your own antennas, you'll want to buy a slightly different model (2602E).

Setup is challenging, expect to have to search the Cisco.com IOS documentation if you are not familiar with setting up IOS devices. It comes with a mounting plate in the box, and supports Power over Ethernet BUT it does NOT come with an AC adapter. To make use of the Gigabit Ethernet, you will probably need a separate AC adapter, or a PoE power injector that specifically supports gigabit (uses the pairs of wires in the cable for data and power simultaneously, as opposed to using 2 pairs for data and 2 for power as with 100Mbit Ethernet)

This supports MIMO 3x3, multiple VLANS, multiple SSIDs, WPA and WPA2 both enterprise and personal (although it's not labeled by such friendly names), supports dual band 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, it also supports the use of the same (or separate) SSIDs on both bands with automatic band selection (with the right firmware version). Note if you want the SSID to be broadcast/visible you need to "enable guest mode" for that particular SSID.

This is not strictly an access point, as it could also be used as a bridge, a repeater, and more depending on how your configure it. This is truly the king of access points.
