First review.I wanted to stand while working in my home office for the health benefits.
This equipment works well.
I installed two Dell 21.5 inch monitors to the mount. Each weigh about 9 pounds. I also had a Saitek keyboard and mouse, which fit fine on the tray - plenty of room.
The monitors attach to a VESA standard plate on the mount. Since my monitors are not wall-mountable and have no screws on the back, I found on e B a y a VESA adapter for Dell monitors that each weigh .75 pounds. Keep in mind, the total weight of the monitors, keyboard and mouse cannot exceed 25 pounds.
Review the Ergotron website for dimensional drawings and study the mounting bracket that attaches to your desk.
My desk had a small lip that I had to get the bracket past before tightening.
Keep in mind the vertical mount will need to be installed offset horizontally from where you want your keyboard to be centered. The drawings will help and measure carefully.
Make sure the depth of your desk is sufficient as the keyboard on mine sticks out about 4 inches from the lip of my desk.
My two gripes are I cannot get the tray on which my keyboard and mouse sit to rest flush with my desk. I attached some rubber isolators to the underside of the tray that broached the distance and it works fine for me.
The other gripe is cable management is poor. You would need to buy longer monitor cables to fully string the cables from your computer to the monitors through the mount, but it wasn't worth it for me.
One thing I had worried about is keyboard vibration when typing. This is not really an issue unless your pound hard when you type. Once the tension is adjusted properly, there is very little vibration while typing and certainly not enough to slow me down. Actually, I think I might type faster when standing up.
Raising and lowering the desk is dead simple and very smooth. After install, you simply adjust the tension by turning some screws with an Allen wrench (included). Maximum vertical height is 20 inches.
I find this to be a great solution to someone wanting to work standing up. I would highly recommend.
