This was exactly what I was looking for. Came with a great receiver, the RX-V475 http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-RX-V475-5-1-Channel-Network-Receiver/dp/B00B981F2O/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
The speakers are decent and the subwoofer does the job. I probably would have rated this a 4 star based on the price, I got this from Best Buy online and price matched the YHT597 system for $400. But they sent me the new model, this one the YHT599 and kept the price. So at $400, the cost of just the receiver on Amazon I got 5 small speakers and a Subwoofer saving $150.

But regarding price, for this you are basically paying for the speakers at a $150 premium. That's an ok price. They do a fine job in a decently sized room and you can hear the sound from across the house. The setup was a breeze with the included microphone. I haven't bought new speaker wire though what is included does work fine and has enough wire for a decently sized room. The only real value in the speaker setup is the sub. Probably worth $75 and the speakers are worth about $20 each so kind of good deal if you look at it like that, saving $25 overall buying separately.

Personally for me I would recommend the YHT597 http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-YHT-597-5-1-Channel-Network-Theater/dp/B007PU2X6C/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1372320455&sr=1-1&keywords=YHT597 system at the moment. Since it has all the same features from what I can tell and is around $150 cheaper, essentially giving you the speakers for free. The key difference between the two is the watts per channel and that's insignificant since these small speakers can't handle maxed out power.

But this is worth it when then the price drops slightly. I think it is very easy to configure, provides great directional sound and has more than enough sound to give a great experience in a moderately sized room.

Very happy with the purchase and would recommend with just that one caveat I listed worth considering.
